2L

First year they scare you to death. Second year they work you to death.

Ain't that the truth.

Anthony has been busy, busy, busy these past few weeks. He decided to do a field placement class clerking for a judge in Perry, which is about 30 miles south of Macon. It is at the supreme court so he is getting to know a lot of people and the experience is great! He was also called into the Young Mens at church (leaving me alone in primary with a whole bunch of 10 and 11 year old boys...weird). See? Busy.
I have been substitute teaching for Head Start. For those of you who don't know, "The Head Start Program is a program of the United Stated Department of Health and Human Services that provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families." In a nutshell, I am a preschool substitute teacher. It pays almost less than the money it costs to drive there, but I'm still grateful to have a job. And it's nice to think maybe I can make a difference in these kids lives. Or at least for a little while.
We moved apartments! Ah... makes me smile just thinking about it. However we should have done more research before moving in. The apartment complex only has one internet provider and the bandwidth is way too small to accommodate everyone. I don't use my computer as anymore (never between the hours of 4pm and 12am). But this could also be because it is dying. However it also means that Anthony spends less time at home cause he really can't research or really do anything with our terrible internet, so he stays at school. Another contributing factor to him being busy.     Anyways, things are going well.

Sorry there are no pictures. I'll post some of our apartment as soon as we buy a vacuum.

thoughts about law school

About 5 months ago, we were accepted to Mercer Law School in Macon, GA. (Did you catch that "we"? It's true.) So, we packed up our things and moved south to Macon.

School started about 2 weeks ago with an orientation week and introduction week. Today Anthony started his full class load. Wish him luck!

Before we even moved down to Macon we heard so many things about law school. So many not so good things and very little good things. For instance:

"Just plan on not seeing your husband at all the entire first year."
and...
"You will think at some point 'I can't do this!'"
and...
"Everyone in law school are alcoholics. Seriously, they are."
and...
"I know a lot of people who visit home for 3 months while their spouse study's for the bar."
and...
"Law school is hell on relationships."
and my personal favorite...
"Law school sucks, even when your not in it."
Lovely.

How to Make a Blog Post

Step one: turn on computer
Step two: open firefox
Step four: log on to blogger
Step five: click "New Post"
Step six: write post and DO NOT GET DISTRACTED with gmail, google reader, facebook, amazon, weather, all recipes, stupid computer games, and (tons of) homework!

Most of you probably thought I forgot how to make a blog post, so I wrote down the instructions to prove to you that I didn't :)

I'll be back soon (I promise)!

Sneak peek on my next post: Darcy's engagement, Anthony's graduation, moving to Georgia, Christmas, trip to California, online classes, our new niece, Anthony's birthday, trip to Orlando, Harry Potter World, Valentine's day, and more... Whew!

Dr. Seuss? e e cummings?

This semester I am taking an English class. I procrastinated way too long to do this and they don't even offer the class I need anymore! I had a few other options that would fulfill the requirement and American literature was one of them that actually fit into my schedule. Today we read this poem and I thought I'd share it with you.

anyone lived in a pretty how town

anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did

Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain

ee cummings

So, what do you think? Does it sound like Dr. Seuss?

Funny Commercial

This commercial makes Anthony laugh every time he watches it. Ha, it is pretty funny...

(I can't figure out how to post the actual video on here, but here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfJnqbudMzs)
Enjoy!

Blueberries

Over the long weekend, Anthony and I were invited to pick blueberries with some other couples who are attending BYU and BYU-Idaho.
It was so fun and super cheap! (a little over a dollar per pound!) Here are a few things we learned about blueberries...
1. You can tell if a blueberry is ripe if it just falls off when you try to pull at it
2. The smaller blueberries are the sweeter they are
3. I don't like super sweet blueberries... they don't even taste like blueberries
4. Make sure you inspect the blueberries carefully before eating... bugs live in the little hole
4. I don't really have any recipes for blueberries, but it's okay because they are delicious alone! However if anyone has a good recipe, feel free to share!
